Timeline:

• 1895: Sears, Roebuck & Co. starts modular homes via mail order.
• 1908 - 1940: Sears sells half a million modular homes.
• 1932-39: Sears closes modular home offerings
• 1945+: After WWII, wartime factory production was quickly changed over to providing consumer products to post war time economy.  Modular home construction becomes popular to keep pace with demanding surge in the housing market
• 1960-1970's: Modular homes grows in popularity on the outskirts of major US cities
• 1980+: Modular homes become more sophisticated in construction and grows in popularity as a faster, more reliable way to build.
• 1984: Excel Modular Homes began operation in Camp Hill PA
• 1999: Excel Modular Homes acquires AvisAmerica Modular Homes
• 2000: PCMS “Palmer Construction & Management Solutions” begins operations
• 2008: Homes 2 Order completes Model Modular Home in Bergen County NJ
• 2008: Excel Modular Homes acquire Chelsea Modular Homes
• 2009: Homes 2 Order/Excel lauch first “Custom Home Building Made Easy and Green Seminar” at Paramus Park Mall, NJ
